Happy MDW Weekend!
Most people use this weekend as a time to party it up and, if you’re in the tri-state area like we are, go DTS (down the shore) to go wild and welcome the unofficial start of the summer.
Us? We all peaced out to do better things, be less wild, and enjoy the company of good friends.
Some of us bros went up to Vermont to disconnect and get some fresh air.
This is what happens when you go to Kaely’s house in Vermont:
No cell service and that is wonderful. I’m really stressed out about my next show and I’ve been sitting by my phone constantly waiting for other theaters to email me back (spoiler alert, not one local theatre in New Jersey wants to throw me a line and help me out. Some community of artists. Hmph). It’s stressful. I’m too connected and I’m too anxious about work. So this was a much needed change of scenery.
On Saturday we went on a breathtaking hike.
I mean breathtaking in a variety of ways, by the way.
The trail was surreal, peaceful, and a sight to behold, however for about an hour and a half we were climbing uphill over slippery rocks and through cool, clear streams.
Hello, asthma. Breathtaking for sure.
But I did it! I’m so proud of myself! I’m still exhausted from it, but I’m glad that I pushed through to complete the hike. And I was with my bros and honestly there’s no better way to embrace a challenge than in the company of your closest friends.
Here are a few pictures from the hike. #NoFilter necessary, of course. The scenery was perfect on it’s own and the sky really was that perfect shade of blue.
Sorry for the hashtag.
Also sorry for any typos or funny formatting. I’m writing this from the car – we’re on the way home!
