I was really nervous about this post because I had zero idea what the outcome would be. I listen to Pandora at work more than I listen to iTunes anywhere, so I wasn’t sure what songs would be at the top of my list. But I’m pretty pleased with how accurate it is.
Within my top 5 songs, there were only 3 different artists. If you ever wondered what type of music I listen to, I think this will give you a perfect idea:
5. All I Need — Mat Kearney
I’ve definitely mentioned this song on here. It’s one of my favorites ever. It’s about a couple during Hurricane Katrina. It’s not the most upbeat song in the world, but it’s a really lovely love story. Mat Kearney is my fave.
4. Kick Drum Heart — The Avett Brothers
I’m not sure there’s a band I listen to more right now than the Avett Brothers. I love their sound and I adore their lyrics. I think they are just brilliant. This song in particular is fun to sing along to and just makes me happy.
3. Stubborn Love — The Lumineers
I was actually a little bit surprised that this song was at the top of the list. I like the Lumineers a lot, but I’ve been listening to some of their other songs more recently than this one. But I still love this one. It’s such a good song with a great message.
2. I and Love and You — The Avett Brothers
This song. This song is everything. The only thing that surprises me is that it wasn’t my number one. Seriously, if you don’t listen to this band, you have to. Right now. Stop everything and just listen to them for a few hours. And start with this song.
1. Nothing Left to Lose – Mat Kearney
Look at the beautiful symmetry of this list. In case you didn’t get it the first time around, I love Mat Kearney. His voice makes me happy. And this song is clearly one of my favorites and has been for a really long time.
So here you have it, my top 5 most played songs on my iTunes. Like I said, this list is extremely accurate of the type of music I listen to on a daily basis, especially when I’m writing or editing at work. Because there were only 3 artists on this list, I’m going to throw out my next most played songs for you, in case you liked these and want to add some variety:
