Goodbye from Honesty Time.

Dear Friends,

As your most recent Friday Honesty Timer it is my duty to inform you that Honesty Time will be retiring.  We’ve had so much fun with the blog and all of you but unfortunately as our lives take new directions with grad school, full time jobs, etc. we have realized that we don’t always have the time to produce the quality content that we would like and that we feel our readers deserve.

We would like to thank all of you who followed us on this journey.  It’s been a great way for us to keep in touch after college (and then some) and we’re so happy to have had people who have connected to our crazy little corner of the internet.

Most importantly, thanks to my bros.  This, of course, does not mean the end of our friendship.  Honesty time is more than just a title for a blog, it’s the notion that your friends will be there to offer support, guidance, and a shoulder to lean on no matter what, traditionally with an adult beverage.

For those of you concerned about the void that our departure will leave – have no fear, if you want to hear more from all of us (and some other wonderful ladies), we’ll still be kicking over at Food365 until at least mid-August.

Also, Allyssa and Lori have decided to take our blogging venture onto a new website, which will launch next week. They’ve deemed it our “Honesty Time spinoff blog,” but it’s officially called “Truths with Lori and Allyssa” (read about what that means in the EncycBROpedia or Lori’s interview from back in the day with Big Al herself). Here’s a rundown of what is going to be covered there:

Moo Point Mondays: On Mondays, we will review whatever book/music/movie/TV show we are into (or not) at the moment. Who cares about our opinions? No one. Our opinions are like cow’s opinions. They are moo points.

Tuesday Truths with Allyssa: Every Tuesday, Allyssa will break down what she’s thinking about that week.

Whatever Wednesdays: For weeks when there is too much truth to be contained, we will expand into writing on Wednesdays.

Thursday Truths with Lori: Tune in every Thursday to see what Lori has to say about the world.

Flashback Fridays: Nostalgia is so in right now. On Fridays, we’ll take a look back at stuff from our childhoods, or the more recent past, and reminiscence about how much better things were when we were young. We are 25 going on 90.

They’ll cover similar topics that we do on here, just in a different format. And maybe, if they ask really nicely, Amanda, Rachel and I will even stop by every once in a while.

So thanks again everyone – we will miss you very much! And remember, it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! And happy one more week until Spring!  I’m excited to be on spring break from school for the next week and heading to Vermont for a long weekend.  Here are a few things from the internet that have made me laugh, made me think, and helped me procrastinate this week.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

This song has been stuck in my head all week.

I’ve been complaining a lot about how busy I’ve been lately, this article reminded me about why it’s important to disconnect once in a while.

Levain Bakery is right next door to my laundromat, so I just had one of these for lunch because I’m an adult.  #sorrynotsorry

What to watch on Netflix, for anyone else who just finished watching House of Cards Season 3.

I laughed a little too hard at this.

Excited about going to this restaurant for dinner tonight, mostly because of the lights.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Trick

So, this isn’t the most exciting of posts, but I’ve had an unusually messy week and I learned a new trick that I’m going to share with you all. I’ve usually considered myself a pretty together person, I don’t usually spill things very often, or you know, step in gum and then sit on my foot.  Nevertheless, my week began with a massive paper cut and blood stain on my white duvet cover and ended with a lime green bubble gum stain on right in the crack of my favorite black pants.  Miraculously, no stains!   I know you’re dying to know the secret…in both cases – cold water right away and Dr. Bronner’s castile soap.  I’m not really sure what the trick is with this product, but I think it’s strong enough to remove the stain but natural/mild enough not to bleach or otherwise ruin the fabric.  All I did was soak both items in ice cold water and the scrub the spots with a diluted solution of 1/2 soap and 1/2 water with a flat toothbrush.  I’m not especially domestic but I’ll definitely be keeping this product around for other clumsy moments.  My new favorite thing.  I’ve also started using it as regular soap in the shower because it smells so good, my favorite right now is the rose scent.  Apparently this soap has 18 uses, I’ve discovered 2 so far, but I’m looking forward to figuring out the rest.  Have you ever tried it?  I definitely suggest keeping a small bottle around for, well, everything.
